An ongoing research project on innovations within robotic technologies
Anthropomorphism is my latest ongoing research project on innovations within robotic technologies. Research done at the Harvard Biodesign Lab focus on new approaches in design and fabrication of actuation and sensing components with the use of soft materials. Instead of using solid materials and motors to generate locomotion inside of the robot, it uses pneumatic systems to create motion for autonomous entities. Basic materials creating complex movements. Inspired by their research, I started testing the materials and possibilities to question how this could evoke emotional responses in humans What can we learn from these natural yet abstract locomotion’s? What kind of language and vocabulary could be used to describe this kind of motion and behavior?
