AA–RO (2022) is an exploration into abstract robotics, centering around the creation of AA-RO (Abstract Autonomous - Robotic Object). This project delves into the locomotive and gestural capabilities of a rectangular-shaped robotic entity.

AA-RO features three actuators, each with a custom gear mechanism facilitating a variety of rotational movements. The evaluation method employed involves three experimental approaches utilizing animation techniques to generate motion. Personal observations are the cornerstone for assessing locomotive and gestural qualities.

Qualitative mapping and visualization techniques were utilized to structure and contemplate these observations. The results highlight the method's effectiveness in developing rudimentary locomotive movements, though achieving recognizable gestures poses a more intricate challenge. Whether this difficulty arises from the method or inherent qualities of the robot remains a subject for further investigation.

From an artistic perspective, the evaluation method shows promise in unveiling the movement potential of abstract robotic objects equipped with linear or rotary actuators.
